Question Date: 12.2020

Question: I heard Electronic Visit Verification is required for billing CDAC and also heard it was delayed. Can you please clarify.

Response:  Implementation has been delayed only for some service codes. Informational Letter 2200-MC indicates the following:

The Department has decided to delay the use of the Managed Care Organization (MCO) EVV solution for assisted living facilities (ALFs) until July 1, 2021. The Department is working with the MCOs to ensure this change is in place and claims from Assisted Living providers will not be denied on January 1, 2021. The January 1, 2021, EVV implementation remains in place for all other applicable providers rendering the following service codes:

  • S5125 Attendant Care Services, per 15 minutes
  • S5130 Homemaker, per 15 minutes
  • S5131 Homemaker, per diem
  • T1019 Personal Care Services, per 15 minutes

While implementation is still effective January 1, 2021, claims that are not submitted via the CareBridge EVV solution will continue to be accepted for services provided through January 31, 2021. As a reminder, Informational Letter (IL) 2117-MC-FFS states that EVV will not be implemented for Fee-for-Service (FFS) during this time. Further EVV implementation updates can be found at the Department’s dedicated EVV webpage1 . For questions related to the EVV solution, contact CareBridge at (844) 343-3653.
