Jim has developed a consulting business and is presently doing expert testimony in civil lawsuits in defense of IDD providers, consulting with an out-of-state provider starting services in Iowa, providing training for IDD providers, and consulting with CSS.

Description: In an increasingly complex service environment, documentation plays a key part in the delivery of quality services and supports. The first steps in developing consistent and compliant documentation are understanding the rules governing services and the ability to access this information. Jim Aberg will present exactly what you need to know to ensure your organization is compliant and your documentation will hold up when reviewed. Participants will not only develop the knowledge of what rules apply in specific situations but also the confidence to apply that knowledge on a day-to-day basis within organizations. Areas that will be specifically addressed include audits/review of provider clinical records, rules for billing, service documentation, rounding rules, and corrections.
