Presenter Airabella Castillo is a Senior Industrial Hygienist, currently acting as a CSHO in OSHA’s Consultation and Education program. Before beginning her career in safety, she attended the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering, receiving a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and minors in mathematics and chemistry. After graduating in 2019 she began her work at IOSHA, taking on educational obligations as well as offering onsite consultation services.

Airabella Castillo will be reviewing the need for respiratory protection during the COVID-19 pandemic, requirements associated with the relevant standard in general industry (1910.134) including fit testing, training, medical considerations, and written programs. She will also discuss voluntary use and Appendix D, and give an example of a sample program. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session should time allow.
