9:15-10:15 - Person-Centered Planning: Setting the Stage For Success - The HCBS Final Settings rule mandated Person-Centered Planning be utilized for all individuals who are receiving services. Learn what the expectations are in Iowa regarding person-centered planning and how this process can be utilized effectively to ensure that members are engaged in a meaningful planning process. Participants will share ideas, develop new ideas and work collaboratively with other audience members to engage in learning.

10:30-12:00 - Using the Mayo-Portland Adaptability Inventory (MPAI-4) to Develop Person-Centered Plans for Persons with Brain Injury - Effective January 8, 2020, the MPAI-4 will be utilized for level of care determination for individuals applying for the HCBS Brain Injury Waiver. This tool also will be utilized to inform the person-centered planning process and can also be utilized to measure member service outcomes. This interactive presentation will introduce the tool, each of the three subscales and scoring. Participants will be completing an MPAI during this training and discussing how this tool can be utilized most effectively in provision of services.

1:00-3:00 - Rights Restrictions: Helping People Exercise their Rights - Waiver outcome number 5 reads: People exercise their rights and responsibilities, not "people sign a list of their rights and file them."  Join IACP for a focused look at how organizations can identify barriers to people fully exercising their rights, including plenty of time to talk practical strategies for overcoming those barriers.  Leave the training with ideas for how to demonstrate your organization's compliance with the rules for when and how to implement rights restrictions, when necessary, in a way the supports and upholds the dignity of those we serve.
